There are several new cores that intel has for socket 775, and they all put out a lot of heat, and they are all based on the netburst tech. We are waiting for sometime next year for something good from Intel.

The 775 packaging was reported to offer lowered power consumption, and thus lowered amounts of waste heat. The primary P4 (775) core available is still the Prescott, and it is still a miniature space heater inside your system. The total reduction in waste heat turned out to be much less than was anticipated.
