The 775 packaging was reported to offer lowered power consumption, and thus lowered amounts of waste heat. The primary P4 (775) core available is still the Prescott, and it is still a miniature space heater inside your system. I have a P4 3.0 Prescott. I know that these CPUs are notorious for the amount of heat they generate. Are they still based on the Prescott core or do they use a different one?
