Does the 1050 ti support FreeSync?

I'm curious, does the 1050 support FreeSync?

Line of reasoning:

FreeSync is specified in DisplayPort 1.2a specification.

DisplayPort 1.3 is an "update" on DP 1.2a (https://www.vesa.org/uncategorized/vesa-releases-displayport-1-3-standard/), so will include the FreeSync stuff (but I can't see the specification to confirm because I'm not a member of the VESA group).

The GeForce Specification says it supports:
Standard Display Connectors DP 1.4(3), HDMI 2.0b, DL-DVI

With the (3) pointing to this line:
(3) - DisplayPort 1.2 Certified, DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 Ready

So, in theory the card should support it, being DP 1.3 "Ready". The question is, does it? Or is there a false assumption in my reasoning?

Thanks. But then, how can it claim to support DisplayPort 1.3/1.4?

Adaptive-Sync is sadly just Optional feature in them. Was hoping it would be standard in 1.4 since 1.3 and 1.4 arent' very different overall.

HDMI 2.1 will have its own adaptive-sync type functionality (Game Mode VRR) which is not optional afaik.

Freesync is not part of the DP spec.

Yes it is. Its optional since 1.2a.

Adaptive-Sync is a proven and widely adopted technology. The technology has been a standard component of VESA’s embedded DisplayPort (eDP™) specification since its initial rollout in 2009. As a result, Adaptive-Sync technology is already incorporated into many of the building block components for displays that rely on eDP for internal video signaling. Newly introduced to the DisplayPort 1.2a specification for external displays, this technology is now formally known as DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync.

Sorry, I'll dumb it down next time.

No point in correcting someone's mistake, amirite?

You didn't though, that would be saying "FYI: Freesync is AMD's implementation of the Adaptive-Sync DP spec with extra features". Everyone else in the thread answered the OP and your post made it sound like Adaptive-Sync wasn't part of the spec.
