Does tea go bad?

I was looking for some snacks when I found my little green box with a bunch of Chinese symbols on it that I got from the local oriental store... 40 tea bags for like 80 cents maybe 3 years ago..

so.. it's still good, right?

well, it's dry....but it is three years old.....but then again, anything you buy from a supermarket is that old anyways😉

I don't know if the bags themselves go bad but once you make it don't let it sit around for more than a day or so.

It won't be fresh. You can make tea with it and it won't kill you, but if you buy a new pack and compare you'll know.

If you want a cup of Tea now, do it, but buy a new pack for a GOOD cup. 😀

It will lose its freshness after about a year.

Try it - not like it will hurt you like other spoiled foodstuffs! Some can detect loss of freshness and some cannot.

It'll taste a little stale but not terrible. Found a tea bag on my boat that had been there 4 years, still tasted pasable.

If it's in foil envelopes, I've found that it stays fresh for years. Paper envelopes, it will be stale. All this really means is that it will have a really weak flavor...of course if you're drinking tea made from bags, the flavor isn't going to be that great anyway.
