Does taking a defensive driving course reduce my insurance premiums if I don't have any points?

It probably varies by insurance company, but for the most part, will it reduce my premium (liability only)?

No moving violations, accidents in the past 5 years, NJ state.
Don't feel like calling my insurance company.

Don't feel like talking to those bastards that are raping me up the wazoo with their rates :|;)

Anyone have firsthand experience with this?
Just a general type question that might yield a quick answer.

In NY, I believe it was a 10% reduction in cost after I took defensive driving. That saved me about $250 a year, which is quite a bit for a 17-18year old.

Yeah it should. When I took my def. driving course from AAA, they basically asked if I was there for point reduction, insurance decrease or both. I checked both. :)
