Does Tabasco expire?

Hmm no date on the bottle. This stuff must be over a year old at least. If I don't post within the hour call 911.

The only thing that does not "expire" is honey. If it looks fine and still smells like tabasco then give it a try. If you die I'll come to your funeral.

Tabasco may lose some of its potency or start to taste weird with age, but it doesn't contain any ingredients that spoil with age.

Fungal contamination (mold) is of course a concern with any food, but it's not very likely.

yeah they age that stuff in oak barrels for a year or 2. i remember watching a documentary on peppers and they did a piece on tabasco.

Ya I think the tabasco you eat today was actually from peppers grown in like 1999. "What we have here is a 1994 Cyan Tabasco from the southern regions of Guatamala. It has been aged in the finest oak barrels for the past 10 years. Take a sip and you'll notice the rich tannons and wonderful aftertaste."
