I tried searching google, but I didn't come up with anything that matched what exactly I was looking for.

Is there such a thing as a Gamecube video out to HDMI adapter??
 
Simple answer: No.

Longer answer: No, but you could buy a converter box to convert the composite into HDMI but it would still look like a 480i blurfest.

One reason would be if he did not have an upconverting AV receiver and he wanted all of his inputs to be HDMI and therefore only had to run a single HDMI cable from the receiver to the TV.

You could use the component cable, and route it to a Component to HDMI converter, but the whole mess would probably cost about $200+.
