Does speedfan still have issues?

I'm using speedfan on Vista64 since CoreTemp puked on me, but do I have to offset the temperatures?

My version is 4.33.

Please see the Temp Guide posted as a sticky in Tom's forums under O'ing-CPUs. Depending on what stepping you have, you may have a Tjunction max 100 degree chip, which would probably need a 15 degree offset for core temps. You may want to get the SpeedFan 4.34 Beta 38 which is reported to need no offset for Tjunction 100 degree chips.

According to Computronix' Temp Guide (latest revision, 2.8.08), SpeedFan, even 4.33, is correct for MO stepping chips, which have a Tjunction max of 85 degrees, not 100 degrees (this was a mistake in the previously posted version of the Temp Guide). I have an e4600 (also MO stepping), and SpeedFan, both 4.33 and the Beta, report the same temps, which are consistent with CoreTemp and other temperature monitoring apps.

Edit. In other words, no 15 degree offset is necessary.

I think I have no problems since my temperatures are the same as before when I used CoreTemp on XP... I don't want to idle at 40C...
