Does Soundblastor Live Value support 5 speakers?

I just bought Creative Inspire 5.1 speakers, and I can't seem to get anything out of the center speaker(unless its suppose to be doing bass or something...)

I've got a Sound Blaster 5.1, and the center speaker is coming out of the digital out. Anyone knwo if i'm doing something wrong, or is 4 speakers the limit of my card?

the 5.1 should work. enable it in the surround mixer

If you have a Live! 5.1, it will work. You have to make the speaker adjustment in the Surround Mixer. Set it to 5.1 speakers. Also try enabling "digital output only."

I don't see the 5.1 option. I'm using Live Value though.

In the Surround Mixer, it has a Live! Surround option and a 4 speaker option. But no matter what option i set it to, I keep getting a buzzing out of the center speaker.

are you using the digital out on your soundcard? I'm pretty shure you need to use the digital out for the center channel to work.

There's a difference between the Live! and the Live! 5.1. If you have the Live! You're just kinda stuck.... If you have the Live! 5.1, then just fiddle like the others are suggesting.

Lair! You don't have a 5.1!


If you have the newer Value! though (X-Gamer or MP3+), you can mod it into a 5.1. They are both physically the same cards. The 5.1 has a small change that allows it to use 5.1 drivers. I can't find the link right now. Look around for it...or just buy a 5.1.

Live Value doesn't have 5.1 analog outputs, only 4.1.
