Does something across the room moving bother you?

A piece of paper being moved by a fan or blower drives me bonkers. I have to get up and move it somewhere else, or put something on top of it.

Yet the ceiling fan blades over head don't bother me a bit. Rate of motion I guess.

Might also be why I hate videos so much.

The paper moving is probably a higher frequency than the fan blades.

Only if it would take a great bit of effort to move normally. If my fireplace moves, I'm moving. If the ceiling fan is running, I shall just enjoy the moving air it creates.

Fan is rhythmic, not random. Brain sort of just ignores it. Probably the predator part of our brains at work.

what if I shine my laser pointer on the opposite wall and kind of wiggle it around randomly? does that glowing dot bother you?
