Ok, I am having problems running games. Games like Half Life 2, Far Cry, After the games have played for so long, the system crashes and reboots. I dont get any error messages after the reboot. My CPU is running at 34C, which means that overheating isnt likely to be the issues. Does anyone have any suggestions. I bought the video card at Best Buy and had it returned and replaced and the issue still remains.

Does anyone have any ideas, no matter how obvious they may sound? There has to be someone who can tell me something constructive.

Thanks. I really want to be able to use my brand new system that I just bought to play games at high rez and fps.

If you really want to eliminate hardware as a cause of this problem get Sandra. It's a burn in test, it'll run everything it tests to the max, CPU, graphics, RAM, hard drive etc. Be for warned if any piece of hardware even just has a nick in it's armour this can cause that nick to become a full blown hole. The only thing I can't say for certain is if it handles all the newer equipment (I usually test on 2 and 3 year old Dells and HPs etc). When you run the test make sure to read each screen carefully before clicking next, you don't want to tell it to ignore high temps from something and fry your CPU. Also make sure to run the test 5-10 times back to back. This will take a couple of hours but it can really put the screws to each component.

The first thing that you will want to do is turn off the automatic restart. Follow these instructions
1.Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2.Click the Advanced tab.

3.Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4.Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5.Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

The next time that you have an error, you will see a Blue Screen with information. Type whatever error appears, and any relevant driver information that is listed on that screen. That will help us to better diagnose the problem

Well, I freshly installed windows on a 2nd hard drive and I still got the same results.
Also, it should be noted that Farcry some times locks up and gives a blue screen with NO text on it and I have to reboot. OR it just shuts down and takes me back to the desktop. Either way, I cant play any of the current games.

I think we are making progress.

Also, I ran SiSoft Sandra 2005 and under the CPU menu. I get a message that says the CPU fan has failed, yet when I open the case, the CPU fan is spinning. I didnt think a computer would even boot if the fan wanst even working

it sounds to me like you have a bum driver file, if it only happens when your playing games. Might be worth a try to install the latest chipset drivers for your board, and then install the newest (or reinstall if you already have them) video drivers. THis of course is after removing them completely from the machine using a cleaner, or manually deleteing all install files and so forth.
