Have a fresh Western Digital 160GB External Hard Drive connected to computer via a SIIG USB 2.0+ 1394+ UltraATA Raid PCI card. Have an Internal 45 GB IBM as primary boot. Am running XP Pro.
The External Drive was inadvertently made "Active" in the following manner:
My Computer>Manage>Storage>Disk Management>(right clicked on the W/D drive and got a dropdown) hit the third line that reads "Mark Partition as Active".
Although no problems have come from the action, I would like to make the external drive's partition "Inactive" again? No data on the external drive.
My sense is that I could delete partition and format to correct the problem but am gun shy since realizing I can't always undo my stupid mistakes.
Would appreciate suggestions from the forum.
Thanks,
