being a 20 year old male, i have a too little even though i always wanted to grow a goatee. i am inclined to think this is due to my tendency to not shave too often... any ideas on how to grow a goatee?

apparently it does.. that is what I was told by a person that had a goatee for over a year and took it off.. he said that the rest of his beard grew faster than the area with the goat-e.

I know hair grows thicker after you shave. As a child my mother shaved my head twice and now my hair is pretty thick...

A myth. After shaving, the ends are more blunt so it just looks thicker, IYSWIM.

Another thing is that you usually shave for the first time right around when you hit puberty. It also happens to be the same time that your body starts excreting huge amount of testosterone increasing the amount of facial hair you have.

It's the fact that you are starting to shave when your hair is growing in faster than before that gives it the myth that shaving causes it to grow in thicker.

Also, as someone else stated, when you shave, you leave the thick stubble at the base of the hair exposed, making the hair appear to be thicker.

No.

But it does toughen up your face & men's faces wrinkle slower if they shave (the area shaved of course:Q)

Brotherman, Keep this thread in your archives and look back at it in 10 years. You'll get a good laugh, you're going to despise shaving by then. ;)

Hahahahah I'm nearly 21 and only have to shave about once every 5 days...and I'm quite happy about it. Don't worry...it won't be long before you have to shave daily. Enjoy the freedom while you have it.

20 years old and you can't grow a goatee? Maybe you should get some testosterone injections, or something.

How can I prevent from cutting myself (especially the neck area) when I shave? I don't want to cut my windpipe.
