Does SETIdriver slow down WU processing?

I've only had a couple of days using SETIdriver, but my processing times seem longer now. I previously used SETIbuf, which was a bit difficult to install but it worked perfectly.

Did the WU's suddenly get harder to process or is it SETIdriver? My latest times show about an hour extra prosessing time, even accounting for the low angle WU's. The 3.0 CLI client is the same one I've been using for a while.

I REALLY like SETIdriver and I would like to continue using it, but not if my processing slows down significantly.

I'm not sure off all the options SETIDriver has, but do you have it set to make graphs or anything like that?

No graphing options, but it does have a monitoring option. This may be an issue similar to the "how much does SETIspy slow down processing" discussion currently going in another thread. I've disabled the monitoring but it seems like a longshot that a simple monitoring option can increase processing by about 20-30%.

Been running Seti Driver on several machines for awhile (four months). Never had any trouble with it.🙂 Just checked processor usage on a p-3 600E with Task Info 2000, shows long term avg. usage of 0.01% on Seti Driver. Shows usage of 0.03% on Seti Spy. Pretty much what I see on all my machines. I have over 98.5% processor usage by seti@home on the entire fleet. I really don't let any background programs or utilities load.
I used Black Ice Defender for a long time, when I found that it was using 0.25%, I shut it down.
1/4 of one percent is way yonder too much power to waste on a firewall!
Yes, I am a Seti nut. 😀

<< that's pretty bad Phiton. >>

Yes, I know Tetsuo316. It's so sad, but it's true. I'm incurable. 🙂 🙂 🙂 And I love it!!!

Phiton

Your dedicated 🙂

BTW Zone Alarm uses 0.9-1.3% on my Cel 550 ,does that mean I should make a sacrifice to the SETI gods? 😉

Do you want a link to a Task manager program to check cpu useage time?
Ahh ,here's 1 anyway 🙂

The WUs actually did get harder recently, but only because they had been easier for about a week. Remember when the telescope was scanning back and forth fast, and the WUs went fast? 🙂 Now it's not, and they don't anymore. 🙁

Plus if you switched to V3.03, the WUs should run much slower. 🙁
