I'm curious, even when I have SETI running in the background, the life of the battery on my laptop is cut into a 3rd or so. Is it me, or should I look at some other reason? Thanks for your time.

It's just because SETI is running all the time, and so your CPU is running all the time. It won't be throttling itself back or implementing any power-saving measures.

SETI won't run long on batteries. ;)

I'd suggest only running SETI when you're plugged in to AC.

/boy, that hurt for me to say that.........LMAO :D

seti isn't quite as friendly as rc5 on laptops... rc5 could detect when you were on batteries and kill the cruncher... seti is just completly ignorant of your power supply.

Thanks ElFenix, maybe the next version of their s/w will take battery power into consideration.
