Does this program really do anything important? It looks cool, but what am I actually contributing to society? What are all these calculations it's doing?

Use the command line version and get rid of that screen saver that slows the whole process down.

It's arguable as to if it is worth it. I don't think that it is, so I don't do it.

I don't do it for energy reasons (trying to keep power bill as low as possible), but otherwise I think it's a worthy cause. I doubt they'll find anything, but it will be wonderful if they do.
The main focus of the SETI project is to search for ET life forms. The client analyzes data captured for "signals" that would indicate someone or something is out there Also, despite what some detractors think, it's also doing more scientific research than just "looking for little green men".Originally posted by: StinkyMeat

Importants, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. It's up to each individual as to what DC project is the "most beneficial" to me, or humanity.Originally posted by: StinkyMeat
