Does seeing nice cars in handicapped spots piss you off?

Last couple of days at work and around town I've seen several brand new 2005 Corvettes in handicapped parking spaces. Now this car is built so low to the ground that it would be damn near impossible for anyone with a true physical handicap to get in and out of. I'm sure its just some middle aged wanker using somebody elses sticker so they don't get scratches on their new sports car. This kind of thing makes me want to wait next to the car with a sledge hammer and when they come out and I see that they're faking it, the cars hood gets bashed in as well as the knees of these assholes. At least then they'd be properly using a handicap sticker in the future.

And yes, I understand that handicapped people can have nice cars, but the probability of a handicapped person owning a sports car that you need karma sutra moves to get in and out of, is pretty low.

You are not sure of anything unless you know the person, it could be someone with a heart problem that looks physically fine

I remember one time in London Ontario, Hanging out with CraigRT... some Cab driver pulls up at a Shoppers Drug Mart and parks in a handicap spot... no special permit or anything... but REALLY fat get out of the car and start waddling up to the door... one of us (not sure who) said "Since when is FAT a handicap?" he proceeded to freak out and spit something about how cab drivers are bad drivers and smell real bad... 🙂

Oh the fun times...

as long as they have a handicapped tag i don't give a crap what kind of car they are driving. if they dont have a handicapped tag, then it bothers me, no matter what car they are driving.

as someone else said, just because you are handicapped does not mean you are physically handicapped. hell i had a b roken ankle recently and that doesn't mean i couldn't get in/out of my lowered jetta, which sits just as low as a corvette.

I got mad yesterday because I saw a truck that was lifted up so it looked like you needed a stepladder to get into it, parked in a handicapped spot... but most of the time I dont care.

My GF's mother has RA. She has good days, and bad. But one constant is a low blood count. She tires very quickly. Without the handicapped spots she'd have to stop and rest a few times on the way into the store.

Not all handicapped people have missing limbs or limps. Some look just fine on the outside, but because of disease or disability have very little stamina or a hard time walking distances.

BTW, she has owned sports cars before. The height of the car isn't an issue for her.

So, handicapped people can't have nice cars? I'd be amazed if I even notice what kind of car is parked in a handicapped spot.

A blind driver would have no problem getting in and out of a Corvette. 😀 Think about it.

I was living at a hotel when I first moved to my new job, and there was a Hummer H2 backed into a spot just about 24-hours a day. I guess I noticed, but I'm not sure I cared.

It bothers me more when I see someone without a handicap decal parked diagonally in the handicap spot. I tend to see it a lot in LA.
