Does seeing a person swear make you think less of them?

No. I find it more offensive when someone will be in the heat of the moment with anger and instead of just saying "F*&%!!!!", they stumble with their words and try to come up with a more sanitised word like "Darn" or "Shoot." Just let it out!!! No one will think less of you.

Damn, sh**, f***, they all have their place in moderation. I rarely use the words in public, but if the situation warrants it, I'll let it fly.

Interestingly enough, my best friend has been in the NC SBI for the past year and a half now. He used to sparingly use curse words. I notice that he lets tham fly more often now 😉

yes - it just says that you really can't articulate yourself that well.

but i guess - in some situations it is ok as mentioned in the above posts.

No, it doesn't make me think less of a person who swears as long as it is appropriate.

Just dropping the F-Bomb for no reason doesn't impress me, nor does it offend me. I am curious as to how this will lay out geographically. I am from NY and as I said it doesn't make me think less of someone. What about someone from Utah, etc??

As others have stated, just hanging around, working, etc... it is fine as long as no one else around is offended or shouldn't be exposed to that (children). I sometimes do find people who swear in public places offensive. There is a time and a place for everything.

Actually, when one of my friends (he can be an asshole sometimes) swears around kids, it makes me kind of upset. But sometimes that just spurs him on.
