It's fine when there are no other options. Other than that it's maybe only a step or two above your Pizza Hut, etc.

If you think it's the best pizza ever you have a lot more to experience. Even in my hometown of Tulsa we have dozens of local pizza houses that are at least a few magnitudes superior to Sbarro.

Non-franchise pizza tends to be better. The owners have pride in their business, they put better ingredients in and they don't spend every waking minute trying to take another penny out of the cost of making a pizza.
