I am guessing not. I just got (2) 128MB Mosel Vitelic PC133 2-2-2 sticks which I am running at 147MHz in my MSI K7T Pro 2. Sandra 2001 tells me that the sticks are PC133 CAS 3. Also, does Sandra normally tell the RAM manufacturer?
(1) Sandra runs fine under 95/98 using the detection modules. The function if much more limited under NT4 or W2K. It will not detect the SPD values under NT/W2K.
(2) If you get CL3 RAM running at CL2. The Sandra SPD dump will report CL3 and the Motherboard BIOS dump will report CL2. Both of these are correct. The SPD values are preprogrammed by the RAM manufacturer and used by the MB if the BIOS is set to use SPD for timing. The SPD values does not change. The user can override the SPD and set the timing manually to CL2 which the Sandra can also detect.
(3) Sandra tells the RAM manufacturer only if the manufacturer put that into the SPD.
