Will it damage my monitor if I run games or other programs at non native resolution? My monitor is a 1920x1080 but sometimes I want to reduce my resolution for performane purposes will this cause damage?

No it's fine, the controller in your monitor just scales down and either letterboxes or duplicates pixels to fill in the space.

Image quality wise though, you will likely be better off setting your video driver options to have your card handle the scaling.

The options are under "adjust destop size and postion" in the Nvidia Control Panel, and I'm not sure exactly where in CCC.

Peeps are all right,, It would be fine but why would you want that. You payed the money for the size and resolution so take it to the max, more real estate too,, gl

Because the OP's video card is not powerful enough to handle the native resolution at the desired settings.

@OP: No damage, but it will look significantly worse unless you chose a resolution that divides evenly into the native resolution.
