So I don't clearly understand where you're head is, but if I get you, you're tacitly implying that "good" politicians would not accept local constituency funding, while "bad" politicians do?

Frankly you sound silly to me.

IF you are challenging me personally, then all I can say is that, (a) I really do think that Ron Paul at least TRIES to operate out of his sense of PRINCIPLES, and (b) almost NO OTHER member of the lower house or senate does that, and that (c) I admire that because I myself TRULY am a real high-ideals kind of person, and I believe in less central control, less federal bureaucracy, more local freedom (but gotta limit polluters !!!! )

I took an online diagnostic that reported me politically dead center, although in my own mind I find intellectual kinship with the more right leaning (because of smaller gov't) and mainly LIBERTARIAN views.

Not always. E.G., I find it absolutelu obscene we'd spend >$1 billion to build one bomber when that $1 billion would support educational programs (NOT mil education.

Always gotta be careful about that.

What the U.S. Congress funds as foreign "education" hits your heartstrings as "schooling for impoverished kids abroad," but nearly always in reality is military education for foreign soldiers, i.e.; customers for Raytheon, McDonnell Douglass, etc.

You see a federal budget line item named "education" and you don't squak about it, because you don't realize that's MILITARY TRAINING, intended to get foreigners into posture so they'll buy weapons from USA companies!!!!

"Education" is assumed by the public (tax slaves) to mean we are helping impoverished Negro babies in Africa and Haiti. Didn't you get the memo? In our federal budget "education" is totally about ARMS SALES.

So, to be clear - Ron Paul hasn't pursued government monies into/support his district?

\please... enlighten me....

Uh, he's never voted for any of those budgets.

If his constituents have to pay income tax to the feds then they should get to request some spending be earmarked to them if they have to pay for others spending.

The money is going to be spent either way.

If every member of congress voted with him against the out of control spending it wouldn't be a problem.

Ron Paul is against SS, doesn't mean his constituents shouldn't get their SS checks though.

Yes, Dr. Paul does indeed have a chance, because Huckafraud's former supporters such as Chuck Norris now support Dr. Paul. See lewrockwell.com.

Call me optimistic, but if Romney doesn't run, then it'll be over for the incumbent Obama in January 2013🙂

Yeah I don't think "optimistic" is what people are going to call you.....

Of course he doesn't. He has many views that are completely incompatible with the majority of Americans, be they democrat or republican.

Are these the supporters that helped get Huckabee elected as president last time?

Paul never had a chance. He never had his car. Until people who support him realize that baby steps must be taken they will continue to be fringe and we'll continue to see the same democrats and republicans in office every time. There is no need to throw the entire baby out. If somebody would grab Paul's good ideas and just shut up about the really unpopular ones (which is many of them) they'd have a better chance.

Yes. People are sick of this shit in washington DC. The principles he has been preaching for decades are finally clicking with people.

man, so this is what P&N is like? how the hell did so many delusional people converge into one place? do these people actually believe the things they say? lol scary
