Does Road Runner hate Bitorrent?!?!

Ok, so i've been using road runner & bitorrent (Azureus) for a long time, and i've never had an issue. Same exact setup.

Just recently, my internet has started being REAL inconsistent, but weird. Like I can download/upload perfectly fine, but if i try to visit websites, i often get "Connection Timed Out" and pings have the same effect.

I spoke to a coworker who's also on RR but uses a different bitorrent client, and he has the same problem.

If i close the BItorrent client, everything works great. Open it back up, same connection timed out crap.

Now note, i do have it capped well below RR's limit. My down is 150k/s & the up is at 25k/s

Any ideas?!??!?!

i did smart guy, and they (no surprise) claimed that it was the client causing the problems (or the router, blah blah) completely ignoring my statement about my colleague using a different app, also on bitorrent

and don't be ignornant, not everyone uses bitorrent for Warez, i use it to help seed linux & download new distros

It does that to me sometimes too. It seems to kill my connection. I think it has something to do with the client but I dunno.

Is everybody using PeerGuardian now? Seems to be the parrallel app to use with Bittorrent these days. Sorry to post a little off topic, but damnit, we're in the "Off Topic" forums. 🙂

works fine for me here in NY on RR

i just Dled the latest Aqua teen Episode in 10 min averaged about 200k/s

line max is 400k/s i can hit that running more then 1

i dont use peer gaurdian because i hardly ever download stuf that woudl get me in trouble (movies and MP3s) and RR does NOT give out Ip addys to the RIAA and MPAA anyway

Have you tried a different client? I stopped using Azereus when it started causing similar problems. I'm on RR btw, and haven't had any problems since I switched clients.
