yep they are the BEST

you can play a DVD on a PC with a Celeron 266 (cacheless) with a raedon and yet, it is smooth as hell

unheard of in PCs with 3dfx, Nvidia, Matrox

It's not quite a hardware DVD decoder card, but it's damn close.

I get under 20% usage with a Radeon on my 550 Athlon with ATi DVD Player v7.0, and under 10% with WinDVD2000.

That's pretty good in my view, looks nice as well, far better than any other video card. I get like 60% CPU usage with my Voodoo3
