Hello,
I am trying to figure out how I can enable SRST feature in my computer; for SSD caching, but having a hard time doing it.
OS : Win7 Pro Sp1
CPU : i5-4570
Chipset : Q87
What I am missing here ? o_O

I hope it has nothing to do with Memory size D:

Thanks
Mir

Intel says yes, however since it's an HP, you'll have to contact their tech support. If there is no option to enable it in the BIOS, they probably did not implement it on your machine.

I spoke to HP; O man that was Head on collision!
ME: I am unable to see the option where I can use SSD to cache Hard Drive in IRST.
Tech Support: What drivers you are using ?
ME: Latest one from Intel.
Tech Support: That will not work. you have to install our version of HP software.
ME: Okay, let me uninstall it. Then I install HP version.
Tech Support: Hold on please; I have to collect the document on it
ME: I have install the HP version (Which was a few version back), and I still don't have that option.
Tech support: you trying to install another hard drive to cache the drive. That is not supported; because that is not beyond the scope configuration, we have shipped.
ME: I am not installing a HARD Drive! I am adding a SSD to cache the Hard drive via Intel Rapid Storage software.
Tech Support: You want to strip the Hard Drive with another hard drive ?
Me : No I do not want to do that. I want to cache the Hard Drive with SSD I have.
Tech Support: We do not support this.
ME: It says on the your website this feature exits and supported.
Tech Supported: We don't support that.
ME: Please escalate this case to next level of support
Being on hold 45Min

Finally got the solution.
I had to take matter into ENG dept. (Machine was Business Class and came with Business support)
HP has to involve intel into it.
Supposedly with newer Intel ROM, HHD must 15MB unallocated space for metadata.
Sure enough when I shrink volume; I was able to use SSD for caching purpose.
