Does PSP suck or something?

Anytime someone talks about editing pictures it's also PHOTOSHOP, PHOTOSHOP. Is PSP like, utter crap that's never even considered? I personally like PSP better for some small quick tasks.
 
I just do a lot of scanning and red eye reductions and printing things in odd layouts and PSP seems easier for all of those.

Just kidding. For me, PSP is fine for resizing, cropping and simple image editing. Haven't needed any additional features that Photoshop provides.
 
Uhh Paint Shop Pro can do a LOT of things that Photoshop can do. Photoshop is only more powerful because of all the plugins and extensions that are available.

Editing pictures? I'm a photographer and trust me I can use PSP totally fine. In fact, I'm 100x more fluent in PSP just because I learned PSP first. I know what to do in Photoshop, but Im usually too slow with the shortcuts/menus...
 
i find doing red eye reducing and printing on photoshop just as easy,,,

(but then again im trained in that area due to me being on the school newspaper staff and i admit i only tried PSP a few times)
 
I really like the old versions of PSP to any newer PS or PSP versions. I'm not a big graphics guy, I just do the most basic of editing for messageboard stuff.
 
I like PSP. I don't do any advanced photo editing so PSP is good enough and it starts (or at least used to) much faster
 
you know, i've tried to use gimp.. just doesn't feel right. For what I do.. photoshop or psp.. probably doesn't matter much to me... BUT, as someone pointed out.. photoshop does have quite a few plugin's.. and does PSP support DNG or any other raw formats?

Also, speaking for Nik here... WRONG FROUM 😛

I use PSP V7 for a lot of my tasks, but PhotoShop does have some applications as mentioned, as far as plugins go, filters, etc. It's just more widely used so more support for it.

However PSP in my opinion is much easier to use on your daily tasks, even as a web developer.

I guess that's why I've been using it.
 
< - strictly PS 9 (CS2) user here.

However I find that PSP (version 5 LOL) is very small (full version) and given out to those getting started with a digicam. Much nicer showing folks that it's easier to take memory cards out of their cameras, copying the files to the HDD and working the basics. Using software that came with the camera and using the camera plugged into the USB port is so (insert fav "aol n8b gripe here). 🙂

Simple things like cropping, resizing, adding text, etc. PSP is fine for.

I remember so many people using Adobe Photo Deluxe that was bundled with cameras. Good gawd what a POS.
