Does PS2 mouse need an IRQ ? (CUSL2 prob)

I just installed my CUSL2-C. Everythings fine except
device manager says the mouse is interfering with IRQ12
which is in use by 'an unknown device' <- this info from Sandra.
I can't seem to find anything actually using IRQ12.
Funny thing...the mouse works without the drivers installed but the features arent enabled. I guess it
just runs in generic mode...which makes me wonder, does it
even need an IRQ...?? Im going to try assigning IRQ12 to a legacy slot and see if that clears it up. Anybody else have this
problem ?

Try resolving the unknown device. Either disable it or delete it or install the correct driver for that device.

The PS2 mouse does require an IRQ and it is usually 12. The unknown device is a i815 device. Did you install the Intel INF? That should solve your unknown device problem. But there shouldn't be anything sharing with the PS2 mouse. You may want to check your bios for a setting for PS2 mice.

The unknown device is usually the i815E Security Firmware Hub. Make sure that you install the Chipset inf Drivers to recognise it properly.

If you find that you are hard up on IRQs (and most people are on the CUSL2), I suggest disabling the serial ports of you do not use them, as well as disabling the additional USB bracket if you do not need that many USB ports.
