You would think after all these tens of thousands of years of humans eating animals that animals as a whole would have somehow evolved to make themselves taste like ass or something.

They did...nowadays we call it ham and bacon.

Erm... well, our "breeding" for the most part does make it taste like crap. If you've had free range organic meats you can actually tell a significant difference in some cases.

Hell, you can see the difference! Seriously. Organic meat just looks... healthy.. compared to regular grocery store crap. It's weird.

I wasn't talking about modern genetic breeding, but just regular old breeding for thousands of years. Kind of like how dogs don't tend to look like wolves.
And the biggest difference with organic meats is the feed and the movement. Lower quality beef is raised in crowded feedlots and fed corn and grain exclusively. Organic beef is raised on a ranch where it can move around and allowed to eat grass and hay.
