Does Oprea sell your email address to spammers ?

I downloaded Opera 8 and used it for a couple days. Decided I like it so I went to Opera web site and bought the no banner version. The browser is very good buy the way.

But starting the next day I'm getting spam email ( offers ) about once a day. My email address has not gone out to any company or site. I know this happened after registration for the Opera Browser. I have a gmail address that I use when signing up at other sites etc and it for that propose that gmail account gets the spam.

Anyone else have this happen ?

Guess I should have used the gmail address when I bought.
