Either they want really good customer service and are letting salesmen know where you are in the store, or they have been ripped off.

I'm going to go to the nearest office max, stuff a bunch of supplies down my pants, walk around for an hour, and put the merchandise back.

I was leaning against a printer display at Staples playing my DS once. I got looked at suspiciously about 10 times. One guy even came like 5 feet away from me, just to look at what I was doing.

I was playing a game, not putting the DS in my pocket repeatedly as I walk around the store.

Store Guy- "NOOO!! He stole a PDA and is using it to schedule things in the store!!!!!!1!11"

ROFL .... damn good story dude.

I'm walking in the store, and this guy looks at me suspiciously... like I was already a thief. I was a minority, modestly dressed. They thought I was going to rob the store.

my mom and I are white trash...we'd go into steigers and the undercovers would follow us around as we browsed. Within a couple years I knew them by name.

The only real solution to this is to walk around the store and act like a shady character the entire time.

put on a black jumpsuit and tippy toe around the store going "dun dun... DUN DUN... dun dun dun dun dun dun........ DUN DUN DUN!!!!"

Pink Panther FTW!~

Chances are they got their orders from higher up.

you should go back and take a dump in the back of the store, that would blow them away, they would have no idea what to do.

Just dart around the store, sneaking between the isles. And then casually looking at what you want to pick up, then dart around the store again back to the register, casually pay for it, then dart out. Make them freak out.

I get watched a bit more in OfficeMax than in other stores, I've noticed. It's never really bothered me though.

there is so much I could say here.....having worked for Omax's LP department a while ago...

let me just say that for the money they spent equipping their store employees with that gear, they have to justify it somehow.

Just lurk around the store for like 30 minutes until you find out exactly what you need. Then come back the next day, run full sprint into the store, to the item, pick it up, and run full sprint to the register. It would freak them out so much that thier minds would break.
