Does OCZ use quality DDR2 chips?

Does anyone have some info on what DDR2 chips OCZ is using these days? (the DDR2-800 in particular) With the heatspreaders they glue onto the chip, it's hard to tell what they're actually using.

Probably wouldn't matter if you could look under the heatsink since they can have chips packaged with their own brand on it. Whatever they may be using this month doesn't mean they are still using it next month.

Also depends on the size of the modules. Did you have a model # in particular? A lot of the 2x2GB DDR2-800 modules from different companies use the same chips, although I don't recall what brand it is. n7 is the guy to ask.

Those would be Powerchips (PSC) and almost all the high-end vendors use them. They can OC like crazy but the binning process can vary widely. My 2x2GB Mushkin 800s can do 1120 MHz and not even get warm (another characteristic of PSC). They max out around 2.0v and don't scale with voltage like old Micron sets.
P.S. If you geta set, tRFC needs to be 50+.

That would be 54+, if you're wanting to overclock. The SPD of 52 is fine, if you aren't wanting to overclock.

I tink a setting of 55 is safer as per my exp.
