Question Does Nvidia Have Any Special Feature Like A "Vivid Game" Mode That AMD Has?

When I had a Nvidia GPU, before the 5000 series released I remember the Nvidia tray had some special effects you could add to any game and it had many more options than what AMD had but the problem was most of them resulted in a performance impact so I didn't use them.

AMD has "Display Color Enhancement" where you can choose from Dynamic Contrast Enhancer and Vivid Gaming, it doesn't work in some games but many games it does, I often use Vivid Gaming in Planetside 2 and Star Trek Online.

Does Nvidia have something like this? I might be getting a 5090 this year. I have used my White AsRock Taichi 7900XTX since May 2024.

From searching around it seems like Nvidia has something called "Nvidia Freestyle" in geforce experience to do what you want.

I remember using this before in Star Trek Online when I had a Gigabyte AERO 4080 OC but I also remember using the filters would lower my FPS, makes no sense why filters like these would lower FPS.

I suppose "color enhancer" is the closest Nvidia equivalent to AMD Vivid Gaming mode and/or the digital vibrancy being increased in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Still, the AMD feature is an entire color setting that has no meter, you just set it and your game has nicer looking colors. I notice it looks better Vivid Gaming off in Planetside 2 when it is night time but mid day an day time it looks better with it on Vivid.

Something like color enhancer should have no performance impact, Nvidia really needs to fix all of this so there is no performance impact if you use any meter on here.

"Yes, Nvidia Freestyle can affect performance, primarily due to its post-processing filters and the in-game overlay. The performance impact is often minimal and varies depending on the specific filters used and the game, with more demanding filters causing a greater decrease in FPS. Disabling game filters or the overlay can restore performance. "

What your talking about wanting things to give you better quality. nVidia does not have anything like. What your talking about and want to do can be found on your monitor settings. Go in there and you will, or should have options like Vivid and Cinema and Dynamic or HDR effect etc. You should find it ok, and let me know how things go. GL
