Does Norton AV 2002 work with Mozilla browser

Does Norton Anti-virus 2002 work with Mozilla which uses the Navigator browser? I'm using Mozilla and I want to make sure I'm protected.

All I know is occasionally Norton pops up while I'm surfing with Mozilla and informs me that it quarantined something from the Mozilla cache due to various IE Javascript exploits.
