No need for DDR2 either. A64 gets the same work done with less bandwidth than a P4. Not that DDR2 helps even the P4 much yet.

Probably, but I'm not too worried about that for now. DDR2 is much more expensive anyway, and you don't get that big a performance increase.

DDR2 is probably due to release with the dual-core CPUs in 2005-2006. In English that means it'll release in early 2007 ;)

Since the Athlon64 CPU itself contains the memory controllers, the real question is "does any Athlon64 support DDR2?" and as the guys are implying, the answer's "no." And it's a good thing at this point. Cheaper, faster, and a lot of us already own some perfectly-good PC3200 or higher :D
