Anyone here use Nextel phones at work?
I'm in Princeton, which is half-way between the New York area and the Philadelphia area and we know that our regular cellular phones don't work, if we are not outside or by a window.
Building has two levels of basements, and 4 floors (old building, mostly masony exterior walls and old.. you know, Princeton circa 1812).
We have an old voice pager system and we're trying to get Nextel phones with direct connect (two-way radio). Voice pagers work ok, but we can only hear complaints, not respond.
IT staff and servers are in the basement.
All the calls are usually from the people upstairs who can't figure out that they need to unwrap the ream of paper BEFORE they put it in the printer paper tray
Any ideas on how Nextel phones would perform in a basement environment?
