So I'm thinking of getting a new HD from Newegg. They obviously sell retail drives and OEMs (just the bare drive).
I once had to return a failed retail Seagate drive (less than a year old), and Seagate replaced it with a refurb (which promptly died within a month :| ). So let's say I buy an OEM drive from Newegg and it dies some point down the road while it's still under warranty. The mfgr won't warranty it 'cuz I bought it OEM, which means I'll have to go thru Newegg for a replacement. Have any of you guys/gals had experience returning a failed OEM HD to Newegg, and if so, do they send you a new one or a refurb? Just wondering.
