One thing I gotta say is I never see any discount codes worth much for NewEgg, nor any "Free Shipping on Orders over $xxx" specials.

:(

Tempted to place a decent order with them and either of the above would push me to buy now instead of waiting for the hardware prices to drop a bit more.

The biggest purchase worth of gear I've ever ordered at one time from newegg was around $6,000.00 and I don't recall seeing any discount in price on anything including shipping cost :(

THey really should offer 'bundle deals' or something... when we're all buying are COMPLETE system from them ;-)

know what to do, get your cart and email it to them or a csr in particular and ask them for free shipping. they may or may not, just tell them you could split the order accordingly and save money but free shipping would make it easier on all.

of course it depends on what you consider a large order.

Well I'm not buying a complete system from them, just a lot of parts. And they do offer bundles of CPUs w/ motherboards... a whopping $5-10 savings generally, which they make right back on the shipping. :(

I just think once you're spending over, say, $500 you should be getting free shipping except on very large items that might be costly to ship free. Come on, friggin' Amazon.com has free shipping if you spend over $25 on most popular items. Ugh.

Either that or take about 7% off my total order price, which would take care of the shipping costs.

edit - Rise - not a bad idea but I'd have to figure out how and who to contact to attempt that.

We occasionally run free shipping promotions, and sometimes if someone makes a large enough order, we waive the shipping fee.

The thing is, the markup on a lot of this stuff is extremely small, so if a company offers free shipping, even on large orders, they might end up breaking even, or even losing money on the deal. We've had that happen a few times.

It just depends I suppose. We try to work with people, and I think Newegg probobly would if you talk to the right people. It just depends on thier pricing scheme and whatnot.

Oh sorry, didn't realize customers weren't allowed to gripe about major sites that don't offer incentives to buy quantity there.
