Hi

I'm really curious what gaming looks like on a big-screen LCD or plasma TV running 1080p. If you have comments or pics, that would be awesome. I'm considering spending the extra bucks to get one of these (my TV died) and just wondering what it looks like.

I have 2 37" 1080P monitor/TVs.

One I use about 3 feet away, feels a little close.

The other is about 5 Feet away, feels like it's the right distance.

If you are that close to the screen there is a big difference to me between 720P and 1080P. If you are going to sit about 10+ feet away you might not notice the difference really.

I sometimes play wow on my HTPC, it works fine except that trying to use a kb/mouse while sitting on a couch gets very uncomfortable for any length of time.

I do and it's pure heaven.

I game on the PC and Xbox360.

I don't have any pics of me actually gaming, but take a look in my sig.

It's just low-res for teh size with all that such entails. Ergo, the size advantage is quickly negated by the quality and/or distance required. On the plus side they are cheap and donut require hi-po PC's compared to regular monitors and of course are better for movies. I suppose if the main useage is movies and console games then a 40" or larger TV is preferred. Smaller is a bit inadequate for widescreen (2.39:1) movies. Whereas if PC games, docs, and creation are the main useage then a higher res relative to size and lower pixel pitch is muy better. Best of both worlds on the cheap is perhaps a 42" TV and a 19" 5:4 monitor.
