On a scale of 1-10 (1=suck, 10=good) how does my resume objective sound?

"Obtain a challenging, entry-level position in a legal or information technology related field. "

(Im applying for an open ended internship, i.e. not sure of the department)

7: Good, but generic and not as effective as it could be.

While i'm not an expert at resumes, I would add something in there that highlights your personal qualifications/traits.

i.e. "Obtain a challenging, entry-level position in a legal or information technology related field where my dedication, initiative, and work ethic can be effectively utilized."

Exactly. Companies like to feel like your primary concern is them...not yourself. Make your objective seem like your primary goal in life is to help the company and in turn become a better person/employee.
