does my pc work?

Hi

My school gave me a computer, one of those small gateway ones. Anyways they werent sure if it works and its missing RAM and a CPU. I plugged a power cord into it and pushed the power button but nothing happened.

Is this normal for a computer which doesnt have RAM or a CPU inserted?

Its just that I dont want to go and buy a CPU for this thing if it isnt going to work

It's not gonna do anything without ram and a CPU..

Depends on the motherboard, but most won't turn on at all with no CPU.

Nothing, the cpu/ram are required.

Im going to buy a CPU and some RAM for it and see how it goes
