Does my Mobo support firewire?

I was looking around on the intel site, trying to determine if my motherboard supports the addition of a cheap firewire card I found. I'm running the Intel 440BX chipset on a Dell XPS T500. I know that Win XP (which I'm running) supports firewire but is it moot? Does my mobo not want me to be a part of the 21st century?

If anyone knows or can let me know where to find the info, I would much appreciate it

There is no reason that as long as your mobo has PCI slots (It has to) that it couldn't take a Firewire card.

I assume you mean "couldn't", meaning that it should be able to take a firewire card. Right?

I don't see why your computer would not be able to use firewire. The only think I would recomend is that the OS that is running on it support it. Some of the older boards are not supported in 2k and some are. Just plug it in and see if it works
