Does my ideal motherboard even exist?

I was wondering if a motherboard even exists that meet some/all of these reqs:
No floppy drive connector
No PATA connectors
Has a audio optical out on the integrated sound

Does such a motherboard even exist?

I think he means that having a board without preferentially unnecessary features/connectors/whatever there would be room for more desirable features such as additional memory slots, PCI-E slots or fan connectors.

first off why do you care if it has a connector or not if you don't want to use it then don't use it. second there are a ton of boards with optical out on sound. do a search on newegg it's under advanced search.

It just feels like I am paying for tech that I do not want, or will ever use again. And like Theresonator was saying, to either have more room for features that I do want, or to have a better layout designed. In general though, it just seems like mobo manufacturers are all still including legacy support for the most part.

you would be paying more if they did not add this to all motherboards, as you would be paying for customization, multiple models and advertising to differentiate each of these models.
