Does my Duron suck?

Well I built my system today, it's a MSI K7T Pro2 with a Duron 600, and an Alpha 6035. I got it up and running at 3 today, and it's been running ever since. Right now it's running at 6.5 multiplier at default voltage, works like a charm. When I bump it up to 7.0, it won't even post. I bumped up the voltage a little, still no go. Put voltage on full, still no go! So right now it's a 6.5 multiplier and 107 FSB. The current temp is 27 C, and has been that for quite some time. I was also wondering how I could set the voltage higher than 8.0, and how I can change the memory FSB, and CL rating. One more thing, How can I change the FSB in BIOS, I used Fuzzy to do it.

one question: Have you unlock your Duron ? This may sound funny, but it is very important.

Overclocking the multiplier works better compared to o/c the FSB.

My duron 600 with your same setup does 980 Mhz no problem

Lower the fsb to 100 then raise the multiplyer. After you get the multiplyer where you want it then start raising the fsb. You should definitly get at least 900 with your Duron.

I dunno if your board has it, but you can adjust the CPU FSB independantly of the other bus's as well...might wanna give that a try.

I had the same problem at first with my duron. Turns out that the pencil trick did not work the first time. Went over the bridges with a pencil again and now I am running at 900mhz at 1.6v at 32C ;)

Try keeping 100 fsb and changing your multiplier only. I got 10x100 working under default voltage and stable at 1.8v I'm running 110x9 right now though.
