Does MVPS Hosts file slow down the browsing?

I have been using MVPS for a while now but what do you guys think? I also use AD Block Plus. Does MVPS Hosts file slow down the browsing? shall I get rid of it?
 
As long as you disable the DNS Client service, there should be no noticeable slowdown. However, if you keep the DNS Client service enabled, there will be significant slowdown.

I use Hostsman with MVPS and other host files, resulting in a hosts file that is greater than 5 MB and there is no perceivable slowdown with the "DNS Client" service set to disabled. With the DNS Client service enabled, it will try to build the cache of all the entries in your hosts file every time your computer refreshes its IP information (every time it starts, etc)... this will be a significant slowdown.

I recommend just disabling the DNS Client service, as keeping it enabled can make you vulnerable to other cache poisoning attacks anyway.

No. It did up through XP, while they were still using the old BSD stuff, but Vista and up work fine with large hosts files.

My DNS Client is set to whatever the default is, and I haven't noticed any issues. Apparently, it's running right now. Building a cache from even that big of a host file shouldn't take more than a few seconds on anything more powerful than an Atom.

Ahh is that the answer?

I also have wondered if putting that much in your host file would cause issues like that..
