I recently dropped MSN as my internet service provider because I thought I could find something cheaper. I signed up for earthlink and I can't connect any faster than 24kbps. Then I tried a local ISP and was getting about 24kbps as well.
With MSN I could get up to 26kbps---I know that doesn't sound like much of a difference but there are several sites th I couldn't connect to when I was under 26kbps.
I was just wondering if MSN shares their access numbers with other companies so I could sign up with that company and get the same connection speed at, hopefully, a cheaper price.
Thanks.
P.S. The reason I can't get faster than 26kbps is that I live in a rural area with split-paired telephone lines.
