Does MSE 2 do a Genuine Advantage validation check?

Last time I installed MSE on a rig (the new MSE 2), I don't remember any screen saying it was going to do a validation check. Does it still, or not at all? Still, it does enable auto-updates, so either way, WGA gets on your system if you have it installed. Maybe that's why MS removed the Genuine Check from the MSE installer.
 
When you initially install it, it does a validation check. A screen comes up saying if it passed or not. Pretty obvious. Also, it did not set windows to update automatically for me. I have it set to download updates automatically but let me choose whether to install them.
