Hi!
I've temporarily borrowed a Win98 CD from a friend to get my new system up while I decide on Win98 vs Win2k vs WinME.
However, my friend is understandably concerned of this somehow being "checked".
Given all the privacy concerns about various ID numbers being reported by the PC without informing the user, I would like to know whether the Windows "Product ID" (aka Product Key) ends up in any sort of cookie or other file that is accessible over the Internet?
