Does MS still replace broken optical mice?

I remember a while back MS was replacing broken optical mice if the part number was sent to them at a certain address. It was so easy, people were just sending in p/ns from working mice. Well, I never sent in for one and now my mouse is broke. Anyone know of the address?

Try giving these numbers a call: 1-800-370-9255 OR 1-888-673-8624

Generally you talk with a MS Tech Support, try various things, and then in the end if they determine your mouse is dead you give them your P/N and they'll ship you a new one. Although I had a lot of difficulties getting mine replaced (in the end the CSR never got back to me so I've gotta call them up again).

Anyways, try those and see if you get any luck.

Luckily they do. I had 2 of them that I'd collected that didn't work and they tell you to fax them a copy of the bottom of the mouse (including the s/n). You will recieve the new one in less than one week.

I had an optical mouse replaced by them in the past. Now the replacement started randomly double-clicking on me when I didn't double click - very frustrating - and I ended up just going to get a new one. I am considering trying to get another replacement and then just selling it, but don't know if I want to worry too much about it.

Thanks for the info. My GF killed mine. No red nite-lite nothing. I used my old ball mouse
to make sure she hadn't thrown away the software for it, rebooted and it worked again.

That's exactly what mine is doing right now (double clicking).

Last time I did it I had to copy the bottom of my mouse and fax it to them. I suspect someone did something cute, like copying all the S/Ns off mice in a public library or something. Then when the library goes to get their non-working mice replaced... gehh.
