Does MOHAA multiplay need cd key?

I went to my local Office Depot today to purchase MOHAA. When they brought me a copy out of their "vault" I noticed the box seal had been cut and obviously opened. I asked for a different box. When they went to get me another one they came back saying all the boxes had cut seals. I ended up not buying MOHAA because I fear it's like Half-life where only one unique cd key is allowed per user.
I've heard stories where people (or even employees) steal cd keys from software boxes.

Does anybody know if each person needs a unique cd key or uncompromised one to play MOHAA online. I will go ahead and purchase it if the cd key doesn't matter for online.



 
Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and purchased it from another store and made sure the seal wasn't broken.
