well does he? if not why not. wasnt he HIV positive about 13 years ago? no one has ever lasted that long, unless its not been on the news. normally isnt the turnover rate about 4 years?

Not everyone has $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ like he does. He's probably used/tested every new drug you can possibly think of to beat it down.
Besides the drugs, if you eat an excellent diet full of enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, you can boost your immune system to the point of holding off AIDS for a while. It won't cure you, but it can really improve the quality and length of life.
I was reading somewhere that he was tested and it stopped showing up in his tests. But who knows, could be gobbldygok.
yeah man magic's looks twice his playing weight. i think he still plays in charity games and participated in some all star game events.

No one has ever lasted as long? Really? I saw a program about a year or two ago where they mentioned that an extremely small portion of the general population is actually immune to the effects of HIV and never actually develop full-blown AIDS. This is amazing because a couple of the folks they had on the show were diagnosed with HIV more than 20 years ago, when the whole AIDS epidemic first went public. They looked as healthy as you or I. What's more is that they never received any exotic drug cocktails or other meds to prolong or prevent the diseases progression to AIDS, and didn't even alter their promiscuous or otherwise unhealthy lifestyles--at least immediately. Truly amazing stuff.
Magic, though, has no doubt benefitted from the best and latest medical technology money can buy. He may never develop AIDS (what actually wreaks total havoc on your immune system, leading to your death at the hands of an otherwise relatively mild sickness or infection like a cold or flu), but he will always be HIV-positive regardless of how healthy he looks or feels. So it looks like he'll be plugging and patronizing 24 Hour Fitness Centers for a long time.

My uncle's had full blown AIDS longer than Magic Johnson's reportedly had HIV and he's still alive and kicking. His t-cell count is damned low, but he's still alive.

The very same drugs available to MJ are available to just about anyone through either health insurance, or the Ryan White Foundation if your income is low enough.
MJ is doing well because he responds to the drugs well, and has been responsible enough to take them with strict regularity.
There is a signifigant % of people who do not respond to the drugs well. No amount of $ will save them.
But for those who do respond well, and can take the drugs on a strict schedule, they have the same chances MJ does at survival.
